If you are interested in publishing in a specific journal, please use the WUR Journal Browser. You can browse through a collection of over 30,000 journals to publish in. Find journal information on Open Access, Impact, discount on article processing charges, etc.

To support researchers to publish their research Open Access, deals have been negotiated with various publishers. Depending on the deal, a discount is provided for the author on the Article Processing Charges that need to be paid by the author to publish an article Open Access. A discount of 100% means that (after approval) the author does not have to pay Article Processing Charges.

For the approval of an Open Access deal for an article, the corresponding author of this article must be affiliated with Wageningen University & Research.

A Gold Open Access journal makes its complete contents available to readers at no costs. This is also known as a full Open Access journal.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) provides a selected list of Gold Open Access journals. Open Access journals are selected for this list based upon several criteria (All content is Open Access, peer review system, running title, etc.).

Based upon Impact Factors, the Journal Citation Reports provide rankings of journals in subject categories. A journal is placed in one (or more) of relevant subject categories.

Each journal with an Impact Factor can be placed in a quartile Q1 to Q4 according to the position it has in the Impact Factor distribution of the subject category it belongs to. Q1 represents the top 25%, Q2 the top 50% to top 25%, Q3 the top 75% to top 50% and Q4 the bottom 25% of the Impact Factor distribution for journals per subject category. In case a journal has multiple quartile scores (because it belongs to more subject categories), the highest score (or position: Q1>Q2>Q3>Q4) is used.
