De Nederlandse Voedingsmiddelentabel is bedoeld voor iedereen die de gehaltes van voedingsstoffen van de in Nederland verkrijgbare voedingsmiddelen wil weten. Van circa 1100 producten worden gehaltes per 100 gram aangegeven van: --- energie (kcal en kJ) --- eiwit, koolhydraten, vet, verzadigde vetzuren, cholesterol, voedingsvezels --- water --- mineralen: natrium, kalium, calcium, magnesium, ijzer --- vitamines: A, D, B1, B2, B6, foliumzuur, B12, C. Ook zijn vermeld de analysecijfers van een aantal alcoholische dranken en de vetzuursamenstelling van vis, schelp- en schaaldieren en van vetten, olien en sauzen. In het hoofdstuk Maten en gewichten staan standaardmaten van voedingsmiddelen.
