Toelichting (Engels) Membrane applications are growing rapidly in drinking water and wastewater treatment. Membranes technologies can be competitive in term of efficiency and economics for water treatment compared to other technologies such as ion exchange, activated carbon, etc. However fouling is a major obstacle for the efficient use of membrane technology. The aim of this study is to investigate the fouling of nanofiltration membranes by natural organic matter (NOM) and more particularly the influence of calcium cations on membrane fouling by NOM.
