|Toelichting (Engels)||Extended measurement of wind and wave conditions were carried out from 1997 on Lake IJssel and from 2010 on Lake Marken by Rijkswaterstaat in the Netherlands. The objective of the current study was the analysis of measured data for different ranges of wind speed, fetches and water depth, verifying parametric formulas of Bretschneider and Breugem-Holthuijsen to predict wave parameters such as significant wave height (Hm0), and finally, usage soft computing tools, such as artificial neural network (ANN) for prediction of significant wave height. The study will serve a number of purposes, particularly dike design and flood risk assessment.|
