  • About

The Special Collections Catalogue covers the mainly printed rare and old books and journals stored in the stacks of the Special Collections Reading Room.
The main subjects in the collection of 45.000 books, manuscripts and journals are agriculture, horticulture, ornamental plants, botany, land use and garden and landscape architecture. Some of the most valuable items include herbals, botanical and horticultural books from the 17th, 18th and 19th century and geographical and ethnographically illustrated descriptions of parts of the Netherlands and foreign countries and continents.
The publications are not for loan, but may be used in the Reading Room.
Garden designs can be found in ‘TUiN’ (in dutch).
Journal articles covering green monuments are available via ‘Groen Erfgoed’ (in dutch).
