Scenario studies were carried out to predict the effects of doubled carbon dioxide levels, a 1 °C temperature increase and a 1.2 m sea level rise on seepage, groundwater and crop production. Climatic change was simulated, showing increased precipitation. Simulation of effects of sea level rise on groundwater flow and salt transport showed changes in seepage to be negligible. Simulated crop growth was increased significantly by temperature and carbon dioxide increases, without increased demand for irrigation.
