Abstract De kleinschalige afwisseling in de Nederlandse bodem vormt al eeuwenlang de basis voor een gevarieerd cultuurlandschap. Die variatie staat echter onder druk omdat het landgebruik nauwelijks nog beperkt wordt door de bodemgesteldheid. Alles kan overal. Dat leidt tot vervlakking van het Nederlandse landschap.
