Abstract The current potassium fertilisation recommendation for silage maize is outdated and does not take into account the potential of production of plots and residual (K) effect from cover crops or grass. That is why a study was conducted on the background and efficiency of the current recommendations. This report describes the results and conclusions of this study. Recommendations for further research were formulated from the conclusions.
