Abstract This chapter presents a case study exploring how people from a rehabilitation centre experienced a water sports holiday. The location was a water sports island in the Loosdrechtse Plassen, a lake district in the Netherlands. The chapter contributes to the existing literature on the benefits of going on nature-based holidays while having a disability. It identifies the salutogenic mechanisms that shaped participants' experiences of the water sports holiday as part of a rehabilitation trajectory and how these experiences influenced their daily life.
