About Photosynthesis takes place in the leaves but the products that are made – sugars – have to be transferred to other parts of the plant. This is carried out by the phloem transport system. The temperature of the organs that receive the sugars plays an important role in the speed of transportation and hence the useful conversion of sugars. Disruption in the relationship between production and their further processing can lead to problems.
