Wageningen UR Library offers many sources of authorative and trusted information for your daily research needs. However there is another world of freely available research information on the Web. To navigate this mine of information quickly and effectively a simple search in Google no longer suffices.
In this course we will help you to discover the tools that are available to find this information. This course
covers advanced search techniques, special search engines and directories, databases of full text
materials (either books, teaching materials or journal articles).
We will continue with the new developments that are termed the 'Social Web' or Web 2.0,
and explore the academic extensions of blogging, tagging and wiki's.
Minimum number of participants: 8.
