About Fangorn This program is meant to convert data downloaded from host computers into a form that can be read into a CDS/ISIS database (i.e. into a file conforming to ISO-2709 specifications with a 80-byte record). The rationale for this program is that many sources of machine-readable information (such as host computers and CD-ROM's) do not provide data according to ISO-2709, but rather as text files that are supposed to be readable by the end-user. The file FANGORN.ZIP contains the following files FANGORN.EXE The program itself FANGORN.DOC The manual in english. The French version of the manual is still being corrected and will be sent to those who requested it when it is ready. The program itself is bilingual. This file is in ASCII, if you printed be aware that some printers may have problems to print characters like ~ or @ or ^ that are crucial to use the program. BIOSIS.FAN MEDLINE.FAN STN.FAN Sample specification files that operate on the sample downloaded files BIOSIS.DWN MEDLINE.DWN STN.DWN AEJEMP.FMT These files form a simple sample BEJEMP.FMT database in which you can import CEJEMP.FMT the files that result from the EJEMPL.FDT sample conversions. In order to EJEMPL.FST use the database first you will EJEMPL.PFT have to initialize the masterfile.
