Historic Fruit online

Apples

The Special Collections has a substantial collection of historic fruit literature, books on fruit growing, fruit crops and nursery catalogues with fruit varieties from the end of the 15th century till the end of the 20th century.

Some of the old books on fruit crops are made electronically available on cd-rom by C.M. Ballintijn. They can be bought at the Fruithof Frederiksoord Foundation or at the Noordelijke Pomologische Vereniging. You can either browse them on this website or borrow them at our library.
But of course it is also possible to come to the Special Collections to study the original books. [catalogue record]
