Toelichting (Engels) There is a need to develop landscape alternatives taking into account the variety of demands for ecosystem services of the diverse actors involved within a landscape. The future of landscapes is at stake which depends on the cooperation among and perspectives of actors towards landscape redesign. Moreover due to changes in CAP farmers are ‘forced’ to increase their involvement in nature conservation, by managing Ecological Focus Areas. A holistic view on the landscape is needed. An example of a landscape where there is an imbalance in demands by actors and provision by the landscape of ecosystem services, is the Hoeksche Waard. Hence, this landscape is used as a case study area for this thesis research
