Toelichting This paper deals with a method for the evaluation of landscape functions on different levels. It starts from the aspect of multiple land use which is to be adjusted to the polyfunctionality of distinct parts of the landscape. In its results, it aims at supporting the decision process in land-use management and landscape planning by presenting easily applicable tables of criteria of suitability, performance potential, vulnerability and disposition. The method for the determination of these criteria uses approaches of Systems Engineering and Environmental Impact Analysis. Examples of results, elaborated and applied in the G.D.R. [East Germany] are presented
