Toelichting (Engels) At a full-scale single-stage nitritation-anammox reactor, the Olburgen wastewater treatment plant in the Netherlands, off-gas measurement for nitric oxide (NO) and nitrous oxide (N2O) was performed. We report on the NO and N2O emissions and on the effect of aeration rate, oxygen concentration and nitrite concentration on these emissions. Simultaneously, process parameters (most importantly influent flow, temperature and aeration flow)were logged and grab samples were analysed for ammonium, nitrite and nitrate in influent and effluent. The effect of dissolved oxygen concentration on the NO and N2O emission has been studied by varying the aeration rate.
