Toelichting (Engels) To find the demands for Dutch civil waterworks constructions literature was studied and an Internet Survey was created and sent to customers of civil waterworks constructions such as most Dutch water boards, Rijkswaterstaat and the province of North Holland. This created a broader vision of what is used and what appeals to them, while gaining a understanding on what they demand. Where after, interviews were held with parties involved with advising and certifying; several customers: and a constructor, to get a better idea on their vision. To start the discussion in this thesis a SWOT analyses was made with the main findings on Accoya. The needed properties were studied and compared to the most used timber species in civil waterworks constructions.
