Abstract This report of the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for residues of veterinary drugs in products of animal origin according to 96/23/EC describes the activities employed in 2010. The main tasks of the NRL are the communication with Routine Field Laboratories (RFL), the preparation of quality control samples and the advisory function for the competent authority and RFL. Furthermore the NRL organizes comparative tests, ensures that the RFL observes the residue limits, disseminates information obtained from the European Reference Laboratories (EURLs) and participates in trainings organized by the Commission or by the EURLs.
