Abstract Een goede wondheling na een beschadiging is van belang om verspreiding van ziekten later in de bewaring te voorkomen. Beschadiging ontstaat tijdens het rooien en verwerken van de bollen en bij het schubben. Vanwege de verspreiding van PlAMV via beschadigde bollen en schubben is wondheling nu weer actueel. Een goede wondheling kan de verspreiding van het virus verminderen.
