About The building industry is still amongst the most polluting sectors on the planet, while there are plenty of alternative biobased building materials. To facilitate the building industry, Wageningen University and Research created the Catalogue Biobased Building materials, presenting an systematic overview of the wide variety of biobased building materials, many of which were studied at Wageningen. A demonstration-project, focused on wood, fibers and flax insulation, shows the potential of sustainable, circular biobased materials. Innovative firms, such as Isovlas, showcase in the restoration of a monumental building in Den Bosch, that reference-projects lead the transition towards a more sustainable building industry.
