Abstract

Of the PGRs and fungicides tested, a mixture of 20 mg/litre 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid, to improve fruit growth, and 500 mg/litre iprodione, to control fruit rot, on flower buds ( at <=7 d before anthesis) or flowers (at anthesis to 4 d later) sprayed at weekly intervals gave the best results. Weekly sprayings can be applied to aubergines planted in both Jan. and Jun.-Jul. and must continue throughout the flowering period. Spraying flowers did not affect yield. Both cultivars used, Adona and Claresse, reacted positively. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
