Abstract

Two slatted floor systems and the Danish system were compared to investigate how grower pigs function in modern, intensive housing systems. Based on performance results, data on culled animals and behavioural data, it was concluded that the well-being of grower pigs is more impaired in slatted floor systems than in the Danish system.
