Abstract

A method is described for quantitatively estimating the levels (intensities) of competition between adjacent population centres where the inhabitants collect a scarce resource, such as fuelwood, in the area around their population centre. A ranking of these levels indicates where competition is most severe and where action, e.g. fuelwood planting, is most needed. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
