Abstract

Effects of tillage on density and structural homogeneity, requirements for good root penetration and growth in soil, and types of soil structure most suitable for plant growth are discussed. It is suggested that tillage normally creates a sufficiently heterogeneous soil structure, while soil structure after zero-tillage gradually becomes more homogeneous.
