Abstract

The soils developed on the Coesewijne deposits and belonging to the entisol, spodosol and oxisol orders, were grouped into five sub-divided classes according to their suitability. Characteristics used to determine suitability were influence of ground-water, texture, organic matter distribution and distribution of biopores.
