Gray solonetsic and black montmorillonitic earths cover extensive areas of the Accra Plains. Similar soils occur on plains east of the river Volta. Both soils are deficient in N and P. Aerial photographs offer the possibility of recognizing principal soil groups and other features important for large-scale agricultural planning.
