Evapotranspiration problems in Iraq.

The actual net irrigation requirement of the inundated, irrigated and drained plots (at Dujailah Experimental Station) was compared with results of empirical and theoretical methods based on climatic conditions. Penman's formula generally agreed with the empirical results whereas Blaney and Criddle's equation and Thornthwaite's formula were of limited use. Only evaporation from pans was used; the Piche evaporimeter and the Livingstone atmo-meter were unsuited to conditions in Iraq. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)Downloads
