Leaf composition of lowland rice and sugar cane as an indicator of their performance.

The ratios of N to P and K in the leaves of rice and leaves and/or stems of sugar cane at different periods of growth indicate that foliar analyses of 30-day-old rice plants and of sugar-cane tops at an early stage of development will give a good indication of the crop's performance. The mobilities of major nutrients showed a decreasing order of P >N >K in rice and N >P >K in sugar cane. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)Downloads
