The conservation of grass for feeding purposes in agriculture.

Abstract

The relative values of conserving grass by means of haymaking, artificial drying and silage-making were considered. Silage produced the best conservation of nutrients, and when of good quality was satisfactory feed for livestock. Haymaking produced the greatest loss in the feeding value of the grass.
