Grown by Mr. Van Mons in Belgium and named after Mr. Baumann from Bollwiller, France.

SHAPE: no variations.

SIZE: third grade, often approaching second grade.

EYE: mostly open, in a beautiful regular basin.

STALK: woody, rather long, thin.

The COLOUR of some of the fruits is even more livelier, some russeting around the stalk.

The FLESH is rather firm and fine, juicy, pleasant, refreshingly sour but not sharp.

TIME OF USE: December - April. First grade for dessert and kitchen.

The TREE grows moderately strong, is very fertile, best suited as standard tree or pyramid.

A beautiful apple, which will do well in the market, both because of its good qualities and its extraordinary beauty.
