Origin no longer known, grown in The Netherlands since many, many years and distributed widely.
SHAPE: as illustrated, with variations: sometimes flatter, sometimes, but seldom, longer.
SIZE: third grade.
EYE: closed, long sepals which usually stay green; broad, sometimes saucer-like basin surrounded by flat ribs.
STALK: medium long, woody, in medium deep cavity with sometimes traces of russeting.
The COLOUR: as illustrated; at full ripeness more creamy white and translucent; when still on the tree covered by a thin bloom. Apples at the shadow side of the tree without any flames or stripes.
The FLESH is yellowish white, soft, juicy, pleasantly refreshing tartness; the apple is very much distinguishable by its lovely scent.
TIME OF USE: August. First grade for dessert, summer apple.
The TREE is a moderate grower; makes sturdy, rough branches; can be recognized by its large, lobate leaves and very large, white flowers; recommendable for all shapes.
