The origin of this apple is unknown; we have the variety for many years already but it has not been described by any of the foreign pomologists. On his request we have sent scions to Mr. OBERDIECK, who wrote to us that he was not familiar with this apple, but that he wanted it in his orchard because of it qualities.

SHAPE: very regular.

SIZE: fourth grade.

EYE: closed, sometimes half-closed, with small, pointed, greyish brown sepals, in an attractive, regular, sometimes thinly russeted basin.

STALK: 25 - 35 mms long; brown with green, thin, woody, close to the apple usually a bit fleshy; the cavity is regular, sometimes with a greenish grey russeting

The COLOUR is yellowish green with a brownish blood-coloured spot at the sun side and very striking green-white, irregularly spread lenticels; occasional thin brown or green-grey russeting. The skin is thin, smooth, glossy, not waxy.

The FLESH is yellowish white with green-yellow veins, very fine, soft, juicy, with a pleasant sourish-sweet, winy taste, aromatic. The core is large in proportion to the fruit; large cells with beautiful, perfect light brown pips.

TIME OF USE: January to the end of April; first grade for dessert, also because of the shape; very well suitable for making apple cookies.

The TREE is a moderate grower and builds an attractive pyramid; as a standard tree it needs thinning. The twigs are slender, medium length, brown-olive coloured with small lenticels; the buds are medium sized, flat; the shoots are slender, dull olive-brown and a bit woolly at the top; leaf stalks are 35 - 40 mms; leaves are oblong and oval, glossy green, pointed and dully serrated.

This variety can be recommended for all shapes; the apple travels well and is therefore a good apple for the market.
