Root growth in acid soils.

Abstract

In pot and field trials with oats and spring wheat grown in acid soils, a sharp limit to root development was observed at about pH 3.5; below pH 3.4 hardly any root growth occurred and above pH 3.6 it was hardly affected by pH.
