Abstract

Construction of the apparatus is based on the principle of Lemon and Erickson; modifications of the electrodes to adapt and protect them for rough work are described. Examples of the performance of the instrument are given; the results were compatible with estimations of aeration by visual inspection of soil colour. There was usually a good correlation between values of O2-diffusion rate and root penetration. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
